Ré, I have been carefully thinking about all that has happened, and I realize I need to dedicate myself fully to the R&D team. There will be much to do now our new system is on the market. There are still many unknowns. Our clients will flood us with questions. You know that any new product launch requires many adjustments and corrections. The R&D team is not ready for what is coming. I want to dedicate myself fully to this in the coming months. I spoke with Ben, and he’s willing to cover for me on the operational committee.
I understand, Flo. I gave you this mandate for your professional development. You need to think of your career. If you want to become a leader, this mandate is a great opportunity. Rethink this; I don’t have many such opportunities to give. It was a rare gift I gave you! I want what’s best for you. I want to see you grow.
I know, Ré, and I’m very grateful for it. As you know, it’s difficult for me these days. You said you worry about me and that you want to help me. Now I need your help to ensure the success of the R&D team. I’m a scientist first, and the team needs me now.
Yes, I want to help you, Flo. But you can be so much more than a scientific manager. You have a great potential for leadership. I see you at the head of the company if you let me help you!
Thanks, Ré, for believing in me. I just need your patience and support to do this now. You’re always so good to me. I’m so grateful for it!
This is your decision, Flo. If you believe this is the right thing to do, let’s do it. But remember that I’m always there for you.
